I got my G1 back in April and have had no problems with it at all! Its been great, the best phone I've ever had but I went to Australia last month and while I was over there the phone wouldn't charge while it was switched on. So while I was messing around I tried to charge it while it was switched off and it worked. Then when I came home it just wouldnt charge at all and eventually ran out of battery so I took it to the t-mobile shop to get it sent away and looked at as it was under a year old.
It came back this morning and they said they couldnt fix it as there was water damage to the phone, but there was a note attached to it saying that it wasnt like it had been dropped in a puddle or anything it was more that it had been used in high humidity and/or condensation had got to it eg. leaving it in a car overnight.
And due to me not having any insurance on it they wouldnt fix it.
I think this is an absolute joke as how am I at fault for using my phone while on holiday in Singapore/Australia. I didnt know that it was going to break the phone. Obviously the phone manufacturers over there don't seem to be having any problems with it. So a phone such as the G1 should'nt either.
I've wrote t-mobile an e-mail of complaint but I doubt it will get me anywhere! I think the whole thing is pathetic and if they can't sort it I'm leaving them and going to get my friends/family to do so too!
