Automatically dial additional digits after call connects?

Can we do this yet?

I recall that initially Android did not have the capability to allow you to enter additional digits.

For example, when calling my office voicemail on my old phone, I had it dial the number, then pause, enter my extension, pause, enter my PIN, etc. all without my having to do anything other than hit one button.

Has this been solved yet? If so, how do you do it?

Android has always been able to do this.

Simply use a comma for a pause.

For example say your number was 1234567890, your extension 4321, and your pin 8765, you would dial:

1234567890,4321,8765

If you use more commas, the pauses are longer, e.g.

1234567890,,4321,,8765

I haven't tried adding this to a contact, but it certainly works in the dialer.

No, commas do not work for me in the Dialer app or from the Contacts app.
The phone dials 10 digits maximum.

I just tried phoning my own landline from my mobile (running Android 1.6). In the dialer I enter:

0123456789,12345,54321

(landline number changed, obviously)

When I answered the phone I heard the 12345 tones, a pause, then 54321. In total it dialed 11 digits for the phone number, plus two commas (pauses), plus another 10 digits.

I also tried with:

[landline],123456789012345

And I heard all 15 digit tones when I answered the phone.

So, maybe this is something that was fixed in Android 1.6.
