Anyway to send SMS to IM?

My parents don't have smart phones and I would like to send them and receive SMS from them. THey use yahoo instant messenger on their PC. Is there away for me to send and SMS to their YIM? And vice versa?

I don't want to use a IM app for my phone because 1 they don't stay connected and 2 I have apps that use SMS to sent out info.

your parents would have to send one to you first from their im. they would have to send sms to your 10 digit number. you would then receive a text from a number(92458 etc). you can then reply by sms to this number. i don't know of a way for you to initiate the conversation.
