Anyone know how to set your own MP3 as sms/email ringtone?

Sorry if this has been answered before, I searched but couldn't find anything. I'd really like to set my own MP3 (or wav) sound as the notification for a text message and/or email, but it doesn't seem as if my G1 will allow this.

Any help?

Are you talking about on the sd card? I tried that and it didn't work (making a folder in the sd card called "notifications"). Thanks for the quick reply tho.

just go to e-mail or message icon, open it then click on menu>settings>select ringtone> use any of the tools for ringtone u have ,that easy

that makes no sense what so ever.

but,

u must make inside your SD card a folder called nofications
and put the mp3 files inside there and it should show up when you go to change the ringtone

that's what i try to say with "use any of your tools for ringtone" cuz they have release a few of them n i didn't know which one u had
