Default Another waiting game -- "I just needed my G1 to..."

...look up public transit directions real-time while headed for a meeting yesterday.

(After seeing the final cast of RENT bang it out the house in the Sony Hot Ticket version -wow!). I had printed stuff out in the a.m. and checked at a hot spot before the show, but would have loved to whip out the G1 to guide me.

And I could use LOCALE when at home to turn my dang phone on LOUD every time I'm in the house so I can find it when I loose it instead of hoping I can sense where the thing is with my spidey senses.

Tell me, how many times since 9/23 have you done something you KNOW would have worked better on the G1?
ASUS eee Pad Transformer en route!! T-mobile G2 in hand, N1 on loan to my daughter. G1 on ice.

Yes, precious...my Transformer is almost here...now if only T-mobile would roll out Gingerbread for my G2 already!!

Wow....that is an excellent idea for locating your device @ home if you misplace it.

I'm excited to leave the iPhone, 'cause frankly, I'm sick of hacking the damn thing to get it to work right.

However, there are a LOT of apps from the AppStore that I will miss, and hope to see soon:

Movies by Flixster (Showtimes by Location, Movie Info, Trailer, Upcoming releases both Theater and DVD)
Sportacular (Like MLB.com's At Bat, but for all major sports, and it's FREE)
    Twitterific!
    Facebook/MySpace apps (not web versions)
Midomi (Listens to 10 seconds of a song, finds song/artist name online)
Epocrates RX and Eponyms (ESSENTIAL drug/medical terminology guides for my field)

Once the Android platform takes off, I hope these other developers see that the iPhone isn't the only cool phone on the block that they could be developing for!

Now to just convince them to port from Cocoa/C to Java.

i can almost guarantee that most of those apps will be duplicated...and i hope so b/c they seem so useful(sports and movie times especially)

Yea im turning my iphone into an itouch by only using it for music that way i can use my g1 for even more time since i wont have to worry bout my battery wasting and ill have the best of both worlds. its going to be a hassle to carry both but its gona be really usefull even though im just going to create a playlist and throw my iphone in my backback probably.

I'm sure you'll see the med info shortly because everybody knows med folk need that info in the pocket, easy access and if they make them, docs, et. al. will by android phones. I was trained in the day of those little tiny-but-thick books for the pocket. drove me to public health. ;P
