Exclamation android.process.acore is giving me lots of crap. please help!!

Hi, I just joined this community

I am here cause my phone has pretty much become useless,
I did a hard reset on my phone ( more like a 100 of them ) & still no luck...my touch screen is not working, I cant make or receive any calls, i can't access my contacts, nor can I send new texts unless people text me first.
If i try to access any of it it tells me that android.process.acore has to force close.

I do not believe its any app as I've done a hard reset on my phone & I am still having the same problem.

It is so frustrating cause I baby the phone & this would happen to me.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help.
I was thinking maybe reverting back to an old update like RC29 could maybe help?

Is it rooted? What kind of phone do you have?

Power your phone off . Power on pressing the home and power bottons together . Keep pressing the home button a couple more seconds . When you see the exclaimation point come up , press alt+L , then press alt+w to wipe the phone . Its a little deeper than a factory reset . What you really should do is get an official copy of the rom and reupdate your rom after a wipe . That's the same process as above only you press alt+s to update . To freshen up the rom .

i tried alt+L and it only brought a blue screen with some options, i picked the factory reset & still nothing. Im gonna try to refresh the original rom & see if that does anything (hopefully it does, i have my fingers crossed.)

Reflashing any ROM won't help in situations like this. You have to understand the process.

When you flash a ROM, the update is checked in several ways (checksum, signature, pre-requisites, etc). If the ROM was corrupted in any way then the SPL simply wouldn't allow it to be installed... unless you have a custom SPL of course which bypasses these checks (which phones that haven't been rooted probably won't have).

The ROM itself is set to read-only after it's flashed, and only the SPL can modify the ROM after this by re-flashing it. So - it's not possible for the ROM to become corrupted after it's installed either.

If a full wipe, as described by kidswithclaws explained, doesn't fix it, then it's a hardware problem, so you need to return the phone to the place you purchased it from (assuming it was bought new), or return it to HTC (if you bought it from eBay or 2nd hand).
