    Default Android Handset Names

Based on the way a phone is entered into the market, I see problems with naming every Android based phone a G1 G2 G3, and so on. eventually G101. Regardless of the Manufacturer names, hince the HTC dream, degut as andorid 1st google phone, will it continue on into the next phone. The G2? I'm not sure I like for some reason.

Basically, I ask ,is this the scheme the andoid phones will fall under when being referred to, or is the next gphone going to be in line with its manufacturers MotoG1/2 - SG1/2(samsung) - (nokia)NG1/2.

We call the android phones thier numerical debut number. Is there any other way?

G1 G2 and G3 are all registered trade marks of T-Mobile. Android phones under other carriers will have to use a different nomenclature.

    G1 and G2 sounds nice.

G3 sounds okay... G4 skip ... G5 sounds nice.. and that's pretty much it.

Good for t-mo and my point exactly.. Its good until diff carriers or brands start releasing the android platform.. And when they do, how will the nomenclature look.

I can see it now.. "Man, is that the Samsung G4-FX Ver.2.8892834 with F/W Ver. 02.238948, SWEEEET!!!"

or a little better in my opinion,

"Hey man I saw that on the tube last night, thats the ne LG Incite Type-G model. "

Simply the idea is too hard to continue the g series with diff carriers of diff brands and diff release dates along with diff version on the same models..
LG, Motorola, Samsung, and many more will have to adapt to the naming and I hope it they can all do it in a stylish way.

Why wouldn't they just do what normal phone carriers do and name it something lofty and wistful like the Shadow or the Behold or something?

You may be hitting it right on the button Kommodore..
The "G1" is the "the Dream", Other than t-mobiles streak of G's , time will tell if , those names, stick mo-better than a Name with the letter G and an appending number?
