    Default Alarm no longer working

My alarm stopped working with the last OS update, anyone else have this problem. My alerts for appointments, emails etc still work fine. Just my morning alarm, it shows up on the screen but no sound, even with different ring tones. Ringer and media volume is set to full.....

My alarm works fine but with the last update I actually got a few other things that mess up when I open them or use them. One; my music player, if i connect it using the headphones in came with it'll start to skip and play whatever it wants and then shut down and come back on all by itself too.
Another problem is the home screen shortcuts, I can still move them around but for some reason it takes a while for them to stay in the new place i'm choosing. Maybe 3/4 seconds at most but it's still a lot more than the simple smooth transaction it would do before the update.
Not to mention my messages, they take a couple of seconds to come up too, kinda annoying but working around it.

I've had the same problem with the music player, drives me crazy... A hard reset might fix it but I can't do a hard reset because there is no way to backup or sync my data and I don't know what I am going to lose. Took me hours to cut and paste all my notes over not to mention bookmarks and playlists. And getting the phone dialled in.....

The browser doesn't support plating my local radio stations and I miss voice commands, my stereo bluetooth headset, turn by turn navigation, playing videos. My calendar is screwed up because of the sync with outlook and my contacts are a mess and now it can't even get me up in the morning.

Compare everywhere is cool, but I need the basics.

So I'm thinking of going back to the drawing board. Anyone know of a good replacement for my HTC Universal because the G1 is not it.

i'm on the fence about getting the G1 again. -- i returned mine within the 14 day trial b/c i didn't get RC30 (or any update for that matter) -- and i didn't want to base my judgment on an old version, so i'm waiting until a few more updates come out. -- i hear some battery issues were solved with 30; so i gotta see the responses as a whole -- this doesn't look promising though

Yup, somedays my alarm doesn't work... so I stopped using it to wake me up before work, haha. I think when I toggled the ringer mode, it would play the alarm sound again.
