What Class is the card ?
So I bought an 8gb Micro SDHC for my G1, and for some reason I feel that it makes my phone slower than my 1gb. Is there a reason behind this? Did I get the wrong kind of card?
Help please.
Thanks
What Class is the card ?
Device : HTC HD2 Leo - 1024 (Dual Boot)
ROM : ChuckyDroid Custom WM 6.5.5 w/Sense
Android : Mattc 2.2 Froyo w/Sense 1.5
SDCard : Kingston 16GB Class 2 Micro SDHC
HSPL3: Thanks 2 (Bepe & Cotulla)
Radio : 2.12.50.02_2
Not too familiar with these things. Where does it say what class it is? On the card all it says is SanDisk Micro SDHC. I bought it at bestbuy
Might be crap....class crap that is....go to site in my signature for a screamin class 6 8gb. I believe the picture and description still might sayclass 4 but they are currently shipping class 6. I just got mine the other day....zoom, zoom, zoom,zoom zoom
It makes your phone slower how? When you're viewing pictures or what?
The microSD card should not make any difference to the phone itself unless data from the card is being accessed. Also, don't worry about the "class" because the stock card is garbage.
Well yeah it just feels like it is. Especially when I go to my music.
well.. for the future, don't ever buy anything from bestbuy. They are the worst ever.
I just bought an 8gb the other day and its only class 2. i bought it so i can stop carrying around my 4gb mp3 player. i dont notice a difference
Loading up an 8 gig playlist, compared ot a 1 gig playlist will seem slower. The overall overhead on your phone however, will not be affected until you access large amounts of data stored on the card; and in that case, the speeds are as follows and likely will not affect your usage of non high-bitrate media files:
class 2: 2meg/sec
class 4: 4meg/sec
class 6: 6 meg sec
Do the math.. are you maybe just being a bit paranoid because of all fo the negative you see around the webdernetz? Or is it just that you are loading a massive playlist into your limited physical memory and it's taking say.. between 4 and 8 times longer?
