First I finally received notice to download and install the update but I haven't yet cause I read that once u install the update u wont be able transfer files by connecting phone to computer, is that true?

Second, Any word yet about an application manager that will allow u to close running applications?

You can still copy files to your phone after the update but the place to unmount the card is in a different place on the status bar.

Still no application manager but if you get pTerminal from the market you can run some commands such as ps which lists all running processes and kill which alllows you to kill certain processes. So say for instance the tunewiki lyrics process that never seems to shut down will have a process id, something like 2343, you type kill 2343.
