I want to install android market app on my Galaxy S

This worked fine on my Glaxy 5 (i5503) , it saved me a lot of effort and Market is so far much better ( at least in the available choices ) than SlideMe.

I had the same problem as yours. Yesterday, I bought Samsung Galaxy S from Dubai Mall. I had no "Market" App due to the copyright and the region setting.

here, how you can change it in very simple way. please follow the below steps:

1. ensure your Galaxy S Phone is set to use 24-hour format
(applications-> Settings-> date and time -> Use 24-hour format

2. launch the PhonePad

3. enter the following
*#272* the follow it with the time on the phone (4 digits) then follow it with #
example, the time on my phone now is 18:51 hence I shall enter *#272*1851#

4. the phone shall display a new window.

(BEFORE PROCEEDING SEE EXTORIAN'S WARNING BELOW)

5. select "XSG" and hit "install"

the Phone shall reload and your "Market Apps" icon which be there

hi, it's already there. don't you see it as one of the apps? It's just called Market.

Unfortunately, I got mine from the Middle East and for some reason the samsung galaxy s here as Slide Me instead of the android market app

Anyways so far so good. Tired it. Already downloaded dozens of apps from the marketplace.

I almost thought i had wasted my dough since it didnt have marketplace. now its good

I bought a Samsung Galaxy (i5508) in China, and it does not have the Market app. I tried doing the above trick, but it did not work. Any other suggestions?
