Have you tried rebooting your phone and PC, and using a different USB port?
Ive been having a problem connecting my phone to with Kies recently. The initializing screen will come up on my phone for about 2 secs, then go black, then come back up again, over and over. Now I cant connect to Kies. Is there anyway to fix this???

Kies sucks anyway. But it looks like the "standard" way to update the ROM on the phone. I just use mass storage mode and USB debugging.
Yea, thats all I was worrying about. Updating. I can access the phone through mass storage fine, its just the Kies program in the phone acting up. It used to work fine. =/
You can update it from the internal SD card though like other Android phones, so it's not the end of the world.
Whew. Ok, great. Thats all I was really worried about.
This is The android forum and i expect to get 'respectful' answers, and not the 'its not the end of the world' stuff. I bought into the android wagon thinking it'll kill the capitalists iphone (apple doesnt give a **** about its costumers) but here i am trapped in the same **** as the iphone sheepoeple with their antenna issue, looking for answers about kies connectivity issue. WTF, google your are better than Apple get samsung to get their act together! It's been a month now i still cant connect to kies! And i've tried all the forum suggestions on how to solve the connection issue... I know its not the end of the world.
Welcome to the AC Forums manuellaborer.
Kies has nothing to do with Google, and Google have no say whatsoever in what Samsung choose to do with their phones. Kies is
the PC connectivity application created by Samsung for use with their phones to allow you to connect them to PCs via USB. In fact, the phones can also be connected as a normal drive (Mass storage) that behaves like any other USB flash drive, by going into Menu -> Settings -> About phone -> USB settings, and selecting Mass storage mode.
Kies isn't really needed. You can get updates over the air, and you can copy files to/from it using Mass Storage mode.
There currently aren't any official 64-bit drivers. So if you're running a 64-bit version of windows that might be your problem.
Can you describe the problem you're having? What version of windows are you using? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Have you installed Kies? Did it install OK? Is you phone in Kies mode or mass storage mode? Does the phone beep when you connect it to your computer and a red triangle appear in the notification bar? Have you pulled the notification bar down to see what the options are?
What exactly is it that people think kies does? Samsung should not have made it a selectable option until all updates were released, its driving people insane. Everyone just take a deep breath you have yet to see what these phones are capable of.
