    Default android.process.acore problem

    Hi,

I was wondering if I am the only one getting that "unexpected" error.

Whenever I am in my contacts I get this error "android.process.acore" has stopped working unexpectedly... then it closes my contacts... I can go back in but if I scroll completely down, thats where it freezes.

    Any ideas/solutions ??

    Thanks

go into your settings menu, applications, manage applications, find the contacts app(and contact storage app) then clear their cache/data. it should fix the problem.

Also there are a few threads on here with people having the same problem on the Samsung Galaxy S. In most cases it has been down to dates stored in contacts for people where the date does NOT include a year. If clearing the data doesn't work check all your contacts online for ones that have dates (such as date of births) and make sure they all have a year in the past. Set it to 1900 or something if you're not sure of someone's exact year.

I am getting the exact same problem with my contact on my Bell Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. When i add more than one contact and i want to access them it crash with the android.process.acore. I tried factory reset and it didn't solve the problem. I am currently using the french interface and when i switch to english i dont get this error when i access more than one contacts. I couldn't solve this problem other way. Bell and Samsung were useless. This is very irritating.

I get the same thing, when I switch back to english it doesn't crash when in French it does.... I tried going in the settings to clear the cache but I am using the default contact program so, I could not clear anything there...

I found a way to fix the contacts problem on another forum. So here you go: Open Samsung Kies and upgrade your Bell Samsung Galaxy S firmware to JH2. If Kies tell you that you cant upgrade from firmwayre JG9 then disconnect your phone then open up the firmware update, then go into test mode pressing ctrl+alt+u+p, then connect your phone do the upgrade.

Hope that help and solve your problem as it did with mine!
