    Default Droid X being discontinued?

Can somebody tell me if this is true? Everytime I go into verizon or call someone I get a different answer. I heard it was being discontinued because of the new droid with the keyboard, but now I'm hearing its not. I want to get the phone before its completely gone, so I was wondering if somebody could help me out. Thanks.

I think all these phones will be discontinued eventually. The Droid X is better than the Droid 2 in my opinion but i have an incredible and wouldn't change it for anyone of the others. Either wait for what you want or get the one you want now and don't worry about it. The hdmi capability of the droid x is a big selling point for example.

i'm using a Rooted droid incredible running Virtuous 2.7. It works great and does exactly what I want.

I'm currently unemployed right now, I'm starting a new job in a few weeks so funds are limited for now. I just don't want to the droid X to gone by say November most likely, which is when I probably will it. If it is going to be discontinued, I'll get one tomorrow.

At this point the droid X and the droid2 are slated to receive their "end of life" in march 2011

At this point you can pretty much get one anytime you want, after these phones reach their end of life or are discontinued, Devs just turn the androids into Terminatrs. Look at the Nexus.

Does anyone know if that just means that the original Droid X is being discontinued or if it means that there will be no Droid X2? I love the form factor of the X and was hoping to get its successor to replace my original Droid when my contract expires mid next year.

It looks like the Droid X will soon be upgraded based on how much it's selling for: http://BuyDroidPhones.com is showing that online retailers are selling the Droid X for free now. Haven't seen that before. Generally when this happens, a new phone is around the corner.

The life of these phones should be about a year. I'm guessing they are starting to phase them out since 4G is coming out. It's probably not gone but will be soon. Moto has a whole bunch of new phones to introduce this year. It's still a great phone. If I didn't have the ability to sell my Incredible as brand new (and get a larger phone easier to type) I'd have kept mine. The Droid X would have been the other choice but I was sent an Incredible as a replacement. If I had the Droid X, I probably would have kept it for longer and waited for the Bionic.
