it says at the VZW store that the Droid Incredible is a global phone and is functional in 40 other countries besides the US. anyone know which countries they are?

Voice will work from some countries, and is mostly available in the W. Hemisphere. CDMA might not bee too limiting if your international travel is mostly within the Americas. However, in practice, other than in Ecuador, Brazil, Canada and Mexico, I've had much better luck with GSM or local prepaid phones. But of course I haven't traveled everywhere so YMMV.

International 3G data is limited for the most part to Canada and Mexico (plus a few others I may not know about), and works fine, but check the cost.
My solution: Since international data roaming is rarely worth the cost, in GSM countries I usually just pick up a SIM card on arriving at the airport and put it in a cheap GSM phone that I use for voice only. I rely on WiFi for data to my CDMA smartphone. This is probably the best option for US/Canada residents. In almost all cases, I use Skype on a laptop to make international calls *from* overseas unless the boss is paying.
yea, i'll hold onto my Storm 1 just in case i ever go to another country for vacation

its hit n miss global, if you pay the global activation fee make sure and get it back after each trip if it doesnt work, out of two years of international travel each month to various countries Verizon finally told me droid I was not global capable but wouldnt refund any of the monthly global access fees when i tried to get it back. Only time the phone worked was in Taiwan and i didnt activate the global prior to getting there and after i used it to call verizon to activate my global it stopped working.
anybody know if the Verizon droid bionic works anywhere overseas? should i activate my global on my next trip to india?
