HTC EVO 4G for Sprint - what's it all about?

The HTC EVO 4G is the first WiMAX-enabled Android smartphone, and is set to launch Summer 2010 in the US. Similar to the HTC HD2 in specifications, the HTC EVO 4G offers:

• 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
• 4.3-inch LCD WVGA 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display
• EVDO Rev.A
• WiMAX
• WiFi b/g
• Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
• 8.0-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, flash & 720p HD video recording
• 1.3-megapixel front-facing video camera
• GPS
• Android 2.1 with HTC Sense
• 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB and HDMI port (latter requires an adapter)
• Proximity/motion/digital compass sensors
• 1,500mAh battery
• Kickstand

Currently pricing for the HTC EVO 4G is unknown, as is a specific launch date. The smartphone will get 4G WiMAX service in 27 markets, with several more due to be added over the course of 2010. Sprint claim over 30m people currently live in a WiMAX-enabled area, and that number will approach 120m by the end of the year.

I love my EVO. My wife's battery is crap, but I think I may seek a new battery via warranty exchange.
