Can I use HTC Evo 4G in India?

I am traveling to India in two weeks and would like to gift HTC Evo 4G to my brother. I bought the phone off amazon and it was made for Sprint. The question is will I be able to unlock it in India and which carrier should I use if I want to use the phone in India. Has anybody else had to face this issue this before? Any help please? Thanks

Hi, you cannot use the mobile in India which was made for Sprint. I too had the same problem with my mobile which was a gift from United States. But luckily i got the unlock codes from an online unlock code provider. You too can try this www.Simpleunlocking.com . Here you may get an unlock code and an instructions e mail on how to unlock mobile. It is very safe and simple.
