Yes awhile back Dell promised that Froyo would be coming to the Streak around September or so.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to leave their baby running 1.6 forever.

I would be pretty mad if I left my G1 which has 1.6 and got the Streak and it remained a 1.6 device.

Yes,Dell plan to launch a series of Tablet from 7,10 & 11.5 in.Running Android OS and I think they don't like to put dirt in the water they plan to drink.

even if froyo isn't officially released for the already sold, they can just get it from the newer ones. no biggie.

I'm barely worried about 3.0 at this point.lol

I've had 1.6 for so long that I'm sick of it.(On my G1 at least)

But I will weather the storm on the Streak as I know the phone is well capable of getting an upgrade to Android 2.0 and higher.

Did anyone in the USA 8/30/10 am get an over the air update? Was checking my system and saw update aval. Well ofcourse the hairs on my neck stood up....I yelled 2.2 ugrade as promise. I plug in my unit said it would take 15mins. to preform....so I waited. After system reboot I did not see any change so i went to check and it said ver 1.6....F%$K....WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT? Maybe their preping units to recive the new system?....well all I can say after that was what a pisser....
Any one who went through this I would like your input.

YES!!!!! If you order a Dell Streak on the Dell Website and look at the Specs it tell OS 1.6 2.2 before years end...
That is offical enough, in other words right from the horses mouth.....
Hopefully I read by ThanksGiving.....very greatfut indeed.
