I have a htc desire that i got with Orange, i have just got an upgrade so i have no need for the htc desire, i trawled the internet to findout how to unbrand it which i've done, but when i put a different sim into it, it says sim locked.

what do i need to do to get round this issue?? I thought rooting it and unbranded it from Orange would enable me to reuse it with any sim card i wanted?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
