Simlock on HTC Desire!

My desire phones seems to have locked itself can't figure out what my have caused this I have got no pin number on it...it managed to reboot itself does anyone know what may have caused it to do this?

Ok... more specifics would help. Have been using the phone and then this suddenly happened? New phone? What carrier? A new Sim? Sometimes a SIM will come with as simple 0000 or 1234 code. If this just suddenly happened on a phone + SIM you've been using, that's weird. Do you have a second SIM you could try? Or a second phone you could try the "locked" SIM in?
