Default Multiple Gmail account support

Anyone know if Android will smoothly support using it with 2 google accounts? i have a personal account and a work account, with both i use Gmail and Calendars. It would be nice if i could merge them both on my G1, any idea if this will be supported?

The "push" support for GMail will only work for one account.

You can set up the E-Mail app (not the GMail app) to get your OTHER GMail account through IMAP, so it'll work the same way (just not Push, we don't think).

As for Calendars, just use the web interface of the GMail account you sign into the G1 phone with to SUBSCRIBE to the calendars of the OTHER GMail account. That way, all calendars will be push synced to your G1.

I read in the owner's manuel it can support up to 5 e-mail accounts, i understand you have to have a google acct to activate , but i also have a yahoo acct as well, how will the "push" on the google differ, from theyahoo acct????????? I guess what im asking is what does "push" mean, would hate to have to change my -email acct of 12 years!

There are two different e-mail programs on the phone...a GMail program, and an E-Mail program. The GMail app will ONLY check your GMail account that you signed into the phone with. E-Mail messages to your signed-in GMail account will be "Pushed" instantly to your device.

The E-Mail app will check up to 5 additional e-mail accounts, they can be GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo!, whatever you want. They will work on the "Fetch" protocol, meaning the app will check on an interval (15, 30, 60 minutes) or manually...NOT push.

This has been discussed before. Push is the email server telling your phone there is new email, meaning you instantaneously (subject to data speeds) know if there is new email. "Pull" (what the 5 additional accounts, including your yahoo one will be using on the phone) is the phone asking the email server if there is email every few minutes (amount of time can be set), thus is not instantaneous.

Sounds good, but this is a question I've been thinking about. Is it possible to change the Gmail account you sign in with? Reason I ask is that I currently have a Gmail account and will use that when I get my phone, but recently I've been thinking about changing it cause I get way too much junk mail and I want to start over with a new email address.
Will the G1 let you change the account whenever you want?

Being the case for the online infrastructure, we can look forward to a Gspace on the android.

Along with server apps.
