Default Browser Hijacked Help

I have been trying to go to Yahoo on my G1 and I keep getting redirected to an Antispyware site. It only happens when I try to go to Yahoo. I can go to other websites just fine and it only started tonight. Any help would be appriciated.

Tried resetting the browser to default? Browser -> Menu -> More

That's really odd. On a PC I'd guess the hosts file was edited, but not sure on the G1.

Were there any apps you installed since it started doing that?

My G1 goes directly to Yahoo.com. Are you directly entering the URL or relying on a bookmark or link? The only thing I can think of is that the bookmark or link got corrupted.

I tried reseting to default and clearing cookies and data and still no luck. You can tell it is a browser hijack because there are misspelled words on the phony security website it redirects to.

There is a similar posting on the T-Mobile Forums (http://forums.t-mobile.com/tmbl/boar...hread.id=19618) the poster there is having a problem with Google.com.

Take a look...he has screen shots!

Default Re: Browser Hijacked Help- VIRUS?

I HAVE THE SAME THING!!! Just started tonight (11/23). I was doing great, reading a few mainstream websites - which is pretty much all I ever do -- and WHAM. Getting the same as this guy
http://forums.t-mobile.com/tmbl/boar...d=58404#M19618

Except mine is with a fake yahoo.com website. I didn't click on anything. Last thing I downloaded from the market was a few days ago. I don't browse any non-mainstream websites (news and craigslist mostly).

Tmobile support wants to me to reset EVERYTHING ! And I'm pretty annoyed since this is my SECOND g1 (the first was crap) and I've already reloaded all my photos, songs, shortcuts, markets, etc etc etc.

What's the news on this... why can't I find anything anywhere!

I am getting it too, and I hardly have any apps installed. Nothing from questionable sources. I am also having issues with the Google Search on-device.

I have a feeling that the epc.tmobile.com gateway for our data has been hijacked, not individual devices (obviously, this is too wide-spread).

Someone direct T-Mobile customer support to this thread, I'm not calling. I'm too tired to deal with this crap tonight.
