Rooting Droid Incredible with Froyo

I have a couple questions about this. I want to wait til i get the OTA update to root, but i was wondering if the unrevoked one click root will work on Froyo. Also, if i were to root now, is there a one click unroot as well when the OTA is released, so i can receive the official updates?

With each update, they attempt to patch and holes that can let somone root. Why not root now before it gets more difficult and then when there's a rom with a well made froyo build, just load it? Imo the droid incredible doesn't really need to be rooted. The processor speed is fine, there's internal storage, and with 2.2 you'll have apps to sd and teathering.

now, my main thing is the wifi tethering. i know that Froyo was supposed to have one that bypassed the Verizon fees, but is this still true? if it is, then i will have no reason really to root.

I don't think any teathering is gonna bypass the carriers plans unless you root

lol thats all i needed to know. i think i'll just wait for 2.2 OTA to root. i don't care about overclocking, cause like you said, it's already fast enough.

If you're going to root then do it sooner than later. Most of the time you actually have to downgrade your version of android to be able to root. So root now and then wait for a rom and install it. Any one else agree with me on this one?

i think theres a ROM out now, but i have never rooted before, and i really don't wanna go through the hassle of installing a new ROM, when i could just wait (til Friday, August 6?) to get the Official OTA. i just wanna be able to root with Froyo, and get the free wifi tethering

But what I'm saying is that you'll most likely have to downgrade back to and earlier version of android anyways to get rooted in the first place. So why wait for something that you're just gonna have to undo?

well that was one of my questions. can the once click root on revoked work with Froyo?

I wish I could answer that for you but I don't know. I'm just speaking in general terms. Who knows...maybe the wireless teather that comes with froyo will be free :/ I just know that the droid x and evo have additional fees but they don't have froyo yet
