Default Random Chevy Cruze bluetooth connectivity problems

I have successfully paired my HTC Incredible to my 2011 Chevy Cruze and have used the handsfree calling to make and receive calls. However twice now I have had problems where my phone says that it's paired to "My Vehicle" but not connected. The first time I could not make it do anything and even the car's system indicated that no bluetooth device was present. I ended up unpairing the device and then paired it again and it worked. This most recent time, I noticed that when I clicked the handsfree button in my car and said "Call", it prompted me to place a call and told me it was connected to my cell phone. However, when it attempted to dial after about 15 seconds it said something like "unable to place call." I tried repeatedly and then noticed that on my HTC Incredible it once again said "Paired but not connected." I turned off the phone and turned it back on, waited for the main screen to reappear and then noticed that the car's radio display said it found a bluetooth device, but the phone still said "Paired but not connected." I decided not to mess with it until the next day. The next day I went back out to my car and started it up and both the car and my HTC Incredible indicated that everything was no fine without me having to do anything.

As a test I also have paired an Apple iPhone to the car (I only have one of the phones with me at a time) and noticed that after a week I have never had a problem with the bluetooth when connected to the iPhone, just the Incredible. The car is only a couple weeks old and the dealer has told me that it has the latest bluetooth software, so I don't know what else to try.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Richard

Just registered to give a heads up on what's going with your connection.

First, unpair phone (you may need to turn off phone and turn back on before you try to unpair.)

Second, pair your phone again and stay in paring screen until your phone connects. Pop window appears and says something like 'Your Car is trying to connect to your phone. Do you want to this automatically?' Answer 'Yes' and it should automatically connect the next time.

Just had this issue today and I don't remember getting that pop message the first time.

I'm having the exact same issue and cannot for the life of me get it fixed. Seems like bluetooth is good for one call or action only, then it goes back to 'paired' and not 'connected'. I've tried several times in several different combinations of deleting/readding, clicking the box to 'always allow' etc.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm running a Samsung Captivate (2.2 hacked ROM because AT&T sucks and hasn't released the 2.2 yet).

Just as an update - I upgraded firmware to another ROM and this issue has disappeared. So the 2.2 update leaked as the official samsung captivate upgrade has something screwy w/ bluetooth. Note I did have a bluetooth headset, and that never had issues.

Same problem with htc desire with 2011 cruze, pairs but drops connection intermittently , my wife's iPhone has no problems. On the factory reset, where you referring to the phone? Is there a software update for the desire, or a download fix out there?

Bluetooth on Android just barely works. I seriously wonder if anyone at Google ever uses Bluetooth. I suspect if they did, the issue would be fixed. It is so annoying, that I really would like to go back to my Blackberry. It is not an issue of e not knowing how to set up the Bluetooth. The Android phones don't connect, the lose the pairing, it is very very frustrating. The devices all worked every time, with no issues on the Blackberry.

I truly don't think this is an Android problem. Or else several other people would be up in arms that Bluetooth is crap on Androids. This is more of a Chevy problem. I have managed to successfully pair my HTC EVO 3D and HTC EVO 4G with my Kia Sportage, a Motorola Bluetooth headset, a Plantronics Headset, my laptop computer for file transfer, and each other for contact transfer... no issues at all. But neither of them connect with the Chevy Cruze system without difficulties. It will say Paired/Connected and 30 seconds later it won't be. Then it will be again a minute later, then it will disconnect again. I've also tried connecting 2 non-android phones to the Cruze's bluetooth and neither of those connect either! This has to be entirely a compatibility issue with the Bluetooth standard that Chevy is using compared to everyone else.
