I've never heard of that brand name, regardless when it comes to tablets Google should put a

requirement similar to how all windows phones have 1 ghz processors. You can't be having

android tablets running 2.2 with 600 mhz processors, just makes your tablet look like poop

    compared to the gold standard.

The Polaroid T7 is a rather nice little tablet. I'm using it right now to reply to this thread. The Amazon market is limited, but that's because most apps are geared toward phones. You can still download your favorite apk file and install it with the appinstaller.

Got it at Kohls today 12/1. Had kohls cash, $10 gift and 20% off card. Got it for $69.61 which includes tax. Been setting it up this morning. So far it is pretty good with internet and you tube. Just trying to get free apps. It has the android OS, but cannot get apps from android marketplace. Amazon is what they want you to use, but you have to pay for amazon. Been trying to see if there is a way to get free apps, especially Angry birds. This is for my 10yr old son for Christmas. Its a cool gadget and if I can get a 1+ yr out of it I feel I got my monies worth. There are newer tablets coming out next year with a better OS on them so we should see some prices dropping on some older tablets. The price is wahta sold me. If I did not have the Kohls stuff I would not have bought it.
I will see if I can get these free apps today. Hpe this helps

Got this tablet at Menards on Black Friday. Paid $89.99, plus got a $10 mail in Menards store credit rebate. It's true, this tablet is using Amazon's market, but Amazon does have free games and apps, you just have to register and put a credit card on file.

The ability to use Android Market, AppBrain or other markets is a little frustrating, but if you know it up front, don't bother trying. Part of this is the "Google" craziness that goes on with not recognizing certain devices, because they are not licensed to use the markets. Maybe at some point in time as the Android market continues to grow and get better, Google will allow this.

The first thing we did was order a 32GB SDHC card to increase the memory. Internally it uses 2GB, which is fine for normal use, but if you want to start putting on apps, get a card! I installed several apps and games I found online and most ran right away (this unit's operating on Android 2.3.3). Some of those Apps (not from the Amazon Market) after installing, did not run, so I just uninstalled them. This process is pretty straight forward and the tablet comes with it's own App Manager.

I think most of the problems with those "other" apps are probably related to the features - or lack of features of the tablet - or more specifically for phones - I couldn't always tell for the specific programs so I was just "download happy" - yeah, no one else does this, do they? I am a complete NOOB when it comes to Android - this is my first exposure to it. I don't mind seeing what works and what doesn't. You have to download the Amazon Market app, after booting up the first time, but the manual explained this pretty well.

When I first turned the tablet on, it took me a minute to figure out how to unlock it - but that's just me because I tend to dive in without reading (AND-NOOB - remember)! The manual is pretty good, but it's a bit cumbersome to use - it folds out like a highway map and is about as big as that - BOTH SIDES!

The screen, for me, took some getting used to (NOOOOOBY), I have average size fingers and I struggled with accuracy - there is a screen calibration program. I ended up using a stylus I had left over from a PDA. I also left the plastic screen cover on that was shipped with the unit - for now, until I get a real screen protecter. This is kind of thick, so that may be part of my problem as well. Overall after an hour or so of use, I was able to use the screen based system with no problems, other than missing icons because of my fingers. It is getting more intuiutive as I use it.

This tablet does not have the ability to use QR codes - it does not have a camera - which is strange, since it is a Polaroid tablet (or at least their name is on it), nor does it have a GPS. We knew about the lack of a camera and were OK with it at the time, but with the QR codes for Android apps, I now wish it had a camera. The only other thing I thought was a little lacking was the sound coming from the tablet speakers itself - the sound seemed thin. I guess with the speaker being the size it is, that's to be expected. I have not tried headphones with it yet, so that may make a difference. I also didn't care for the included Kobo reader app. I installed Cool Reader as I owned several ebooks and wanted to move them to the tablet. I had problems doing this in Kobo. I used Calibre to convert my books to epub and Cool Reader sees them on my SD Card no problem.

Overall, the tablet is pretty fast, has some nice apps included, plus it includes headphones, a Tablet to PC USB cable and a USB adapter cable to plug in a memory stick - nice when you want to install apps that you don't download through the tablet itself.

We love this Tablet- it's our first one, so we are VERY happy with it. Video quality and Youtube is excellent! It picked up our home wi-fi right away, email setup was straight forward. I am looking forward to ereading at our campsite and playing some of the cool games Andoird has - like Angry Birds and the many solitaire/puzzle games!
