Gingerbread update failed

Hey all,

So tonight I got the n@otification that gingerbread was available to download. I confirmed, let the install start, and walked away. When I came back I thought it looked the same so I checked what version it said I had. It shows 2.2.2 and that my system is up to date. Any ideas? Do I have to wait for it to prompt me to install again?

Don't wait for any update, because samsung has officially not announced for it. This is a bug. Some times i also get a H symbol on the home screen and then get a SMS for updating it, but after that i don't have anything updated or new or anything changed.
These samsung phone are really crap. I did a big mistake choosing a Nexus.
I have referred various discussions where i could find that samsung is doing such prompting activities to divert users to buy any ICS phone.
A dummy version of update was also given to the Galaxy S users just 3 weeks later.
so this is a cheap way of making fool of the samsung users. how ridiculous is this?
