added contacts don`t appear

Hello, I searched about the problem but couldn`t find anything. Sorry if is there another post about it. This is the problem: when I try to add a new contact directly in my phone (for example an incoming call from a new number), I type the name, surname and the phone number and save. Apparently all works fine but when I go to the contacts list it doesn´t appear. Anyone has the same problem?

Yes - found this post while hunting for an answer. I assume you're syncing Gmail contacts.

It's to do with Groups. When you create a contact on the phone it doesn't have a group, and because of that, it doesn't show up.

My work around is to log into the standard version (you can't do this on the mobile version) of Gmail, go to the Contact Manager and manually add a Group to each contact... A CUSTOM GROUP - yes, the standard "Family" etc groups will not work! (I created a catch-all "Peoples" group - and they all show up now)

This is a bit rubbish - if anyone else has any insights on how to just make contacts show up like they're supposed to, I'd be grateful

Ok, done a bit more digging and I found the answer:

Go to CONTACTS
Press MENU botton
DISPLAY OPTIONS
Click the drop-down for the account and make sure all the boxes are checked.

(Mine didn't have groups including, but not limited to "My Contacts" (aka <blank>) or "Family" checked. - Which is silly, because that was the default setting! Eh?!)
