Verizon Droid Doesn't - Gapless Playback

I could have fixed it myself, if not for the bootrom signature check preventing custom ROMs. There is no way I am using another app. It's almost guaranteed to have a crappy UI and crapload of other problems compared to the built in player. This needs a patch, not a new app. The biggest problem is even if it's fixed, it probably won't be in a release until 3.0, and good luck if anyone thinks these phones are going to be upgraded. As this is a problem with the core libraries, I wonder if it can be replaced on a current firmware even after rooting.
