So the Cliq has been Rooted

So I just found out how to root a cliq from Modmymoto but was wondering since I am new to Android. Why would I want to root my phone? what is the big deal with it. I also wanted to know if anyone already has their cliq rooted can I see a video of it...wanting to know is it worth it.

It probably isn't worth it yet for you. It is worth it if you have a G1 or MyTouch because there are several ROM's available and several different things you can do once you have root. For example they can run the processor at it's full clock speed instead of being underclocked like it is stock and you can free up memory by moving your app installs to the SD card. There are other reasons but, so far I've found those to be the biggest. I would hold off on rooting the Cliq for a little bit until some nice ROM's come out for it. That's just me though.

i'll take your advice...and wait for it. I don't really mind waiting for a day when the Cliq gets upgraded bc it is not like my phone doesn't do what it is suppose to. Besides it's a cell phone right...?
