depends what apps you kill, and what you don't; some dependencies exist. Also some app's default to automatic startup.
Why'd u root it, and what have you done to it since?
Ive had the droid for about 4 days now, rooted it and stuff. runs like a champ! very impressive phone, but.. something I notice thats alot differnt then the mytouch I had is the apps running in the background. on the mytouch, if I used a bunch of apps, about half wouldnt fully turn off then use the task manager. but if I didnt run anything for a while, open up task manager just to see almost nothing was running, once in a while the keyboard would show up but that was it mostly. on the droid, even when its sitting on the charger for a few hours, go to task manager and like 20 apps are running. kill em. wait an hour. 10 more apps running. whats that about?
if the taskkiller is out of date, say an older version that hasnt been updated, would that be the issue? or does droid just seem to like to turn on apps at random lol

I havnt done much since ive rooted it, did it more so to get ready for when they start building roms. I like having full access to the file systems though. also on droid, you have to have it rooted to recive bluetooth uploads. terminal emulators are nice too.
anyhow, ive figered out why the apps are starting up on there own more so then they did on my mt3g. one thing they were saying about the droid is the more you use it, the smarter it gets. well i think this is part of that. ive noticed it auto starts only apps ive used a few times. unlike the iphone, every fuction on androids are apps. thats why iphone is able to start up some system functions faster then androids could. by having them run in the background, it makes them load up faster.. atleast this is what i think.
since the droid is now rooted...can you use the wireless tether app for it?
