I'm due for a phone upgrade with Verizon and I am debating on whether or not I should wait for the Motorola Devour to come out or if I should get the Motorola DROID?? I did some research and I see that the Devour will have the social-network friendly MOTOBLUR... I'm not too big on social-networking so I'm not sure that it would make sense for me to get the Devour. Although, based on the pictures online, I like the design of the Devour a little more than the Droid. But then again, I obviously haven't seen the Devour in person...
I think that the Devour was said to run off of the older Android OS...
What do you think? DROID? Or DEVOUR?
Thanks!
Verizon will be getting the Nexus one soon and that would be my pick!!![]()

I'm considering the Nexus One as well but I think I need a physical keyboard... I suppose I could get used to an all-touchscreen though... Thanks![]()
The Droid all day! Over the Nexus and Devour.
Idk about the droid, everyone I know in person who has one has completely skipped the hard QWERY because it's so bad. and they've had it for a few months now.
The devour does look clean.
Nexus I don't have an opinion.
Well I like the keyboard a lot. And like the having the choice of using it or not even more! The keys are flat but of course something must be sacrificed to be the thinnest full qwerty to date. You get used to it quickly. You do have to use it for that to happen though.LOL

I say Droid of course and not only because I own one. It has a better camera, it's faster and motoblur is weak. Droid is quick and the video playback and record is beautiful. Surfing the net is quick and you can download apps in seconds. Devour only gives you 3 megapixel camera and an 8 gig sd card. Droid gives you 5 megapixel and a 16 gig sd card. As for the keyboard I find myself using it every now and then. One thing I noticed was the devour doesnt have a dpad, which I use on the droid when playing games and whatnot. Choose wiseley.

The rumours say that when Flash comes to Android, it will require 2.1 (which Droid should get within a week), so if the Devour runs an older OS, then probably no Flash for you. If that matters, then that's +1 for the Droid.
If you don't really care about Social Networking, then having Motoblur should be something of a negative for you, so -1 for Devour.
And I really like the Droid keyboard. I've never had any trouble with using it. I just have the occasional memory lapse to my last phone's keyboard and slightly different placement of some of the punctuation/symbols.
If you need a keyboard then the Droid is perfect. If you don't need a keyboard the Nexus One is awesome. The thing about the Droid and the Nexus is that they're Google experience phones and therefore should get updates quicker because they don't have to be rewritten to work with the custom UI's like MotoBlur or Sense.

Yeah, I was leaning more towards the Droid anyways... I currently have an ancient Blackberry Pearl and at first I absolutely hated the keypad but I got used to it and actually came to like it. So I figured that I could get used to the Droid's keypad as well.
Thanks everyone for your input... very helpful![]()
