    Default Droid on a Mac

I'm switching from an iPhone and would like to purchase a Droid. I have two Mac's. The iMac has Leopard the MacBook Pro has Snow Leopard. Typically, I use the MacBook and my wife the iMac. Will the Driod sync with both? Any pitfalls I need to be aware of?

Perhaps I'm not understanding much of the technical exchange in the forum but it appears that most folks have Windows.

    Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.
    Mike

Also a heavy Apple product guy here...

Sync what? Need more info. If you mean media, there are third party solutions...I use DoubleTwist for that purpose. If it's PIM information, do you want to sync with Address Book, iCal, etc? Don't expect the same kind of functionality. In fact, I am not aware of the ability to do this.

Thanks for the response. I would like to sync my music and pod casts currently on iTunes, photos from iPhoto, my calendar and contacts are on Outlook so I think both should migrate. I found a third party tool called Missing Sync (http://www.markspace.com/). Please keep in touch. It appears that most folks on this forum are Windows users.

They are...I was a heavy iPhone 3G user until recently as well. I'm nearly all Apple--Apple TV, Airport network with two Airport Expresses, iMac, MacBook, MobileMe, and of course an original iPhone and iPhone 3G (currently deactivated, due to being on Android--I much prefer Sprint to AT&T!). Still use it via WiFi for a number of apps...so it's really an iPod touch right now. Really love Android, but waiting to see what happens with a possible Verizon iPhone/4.0 software next year, to see what to do next.

I prefer VZW over AT&T. I dropped too many calls with AT&T. I've read lots of articles that discuss/predict an iPhone on VZW. I think it would be a win-win for business and customers. For now, I think I will purchase a Droid with a one year contract and see what Apple and VZW decide.

We were told at Verizon that Droids won't work with Mac's. Sorry! That's why we had to get my son a BB.

    hi
also a mac user at home, now with htc desire (i think similar to the us incredible)
any ideas on mobileme email problems? can receive but can't send. have the settings:
    username
    password
    smtp.mac.com
    SSL
    port: 587

also, any easier (and preferably free) way of syncing calenders & contacts rather than thru google calender / contacts? ideally push but not sure if it exists...
any help would be greatly appreciated,
    thanks

Your settings look right and are in line with the MobileMe setup instructions. One thing I've found I have to do occasionally is instead of using SSL, use TLS, with port 587. If that doesn't work (or you don't have that option), you could try using your ISP's SMTP server (if supported).

thanks for the quick response impaler. have tried tls...strange result...
received the test email on my mac which i sent from my htc, but the notification that i cannot send emails on my account still pops up on my phone. very odd.
is there a way to route sent emails thru gmail servers but it still say its from my MobileMe account?? sorry if this is a implausible question.
