    Default droid battery performance declined

I had excellent battery with my droid the first week. Now it has started to be horrible like my old G1. Anyone else notice this?

    Maybe
Stock apps = good battery life
Third party apps = poor battery life

Especially when, per say, you have twitter and face book and new feeds and junk updating too frequently.

Yup, it's probably the apps running in the background. Download "Advanced Task Killer Free". It does exactly what you think it does. Select the processes that you want to stop, and it stops them. You'll be surprised how much crap is running in the background.

Yes apps will kill. especially ones that require internet access often, so monitor those. Also WiFi kills the Droid really quick.

Yeah I know how the system works, thanks for the feedback though. I actually have no third party apps installed. Was just wondering if anyone else noticed this pattern. I'd expect the battery to loose performance gradually over time, but not after 1 week.

My battery life has remained remarkably good. The first two, three days, I was downloading tons of apps (I've had an Android phone for over a year, so I have had tons of apps I like on my previous phone I needed to add to the Droid), checking out the speed of the browser, playing with Nav, etc. etc.

Now that I'm using it more like I typically use my phones, I leave the house around 8 fully charged, and I'm getting home at 6 with it at around 40-50%.

Again, everyone's usage is different, but this blows away my G1 and even the myTouch.

If anything, the battery would be at its peak after 2 weeks of proper use. The battery needs to "learn" how to hold a charge and to discharge properly. For the best results, only plug in the phone when you're at red, sometimes at yellow. But keep it charging until it's fully charged. If you must remove the charger, so be it (things happen), but try and keep it constant instead of broken up. And don't charge in the car too much because the voltage flucuates so much that it can "confuse" the battery. Just tips we use at Verizon.
