How's its battery life?
Is it worth it?
How's the keyboard?
Do you confirm the complaints about the camera?
What do you like the most in it?
How's the screen?
I want the phone to:
-Ankidroid (mostly for this)
-Email, foruns
-games (once in a while)
-chinese and japanese dictionary
-don't know if there are any other cool offline apps out there
-I don't want the phone to be "online" all the time, I want it mostly for offline apps since I don't want to spend much money with the internet
I though about buying the following:
I want an android with a keyboard, it does not need to be this one. I just one one that is updatable to version 2.0 and above.
LG GW620 (only updatable to 1.6)
Motorola Dext (is it updatable? If it is I might buy this one instead)
What other phones are updatable and have a physical keyboard?
What do you say?
Please help me, If I'm buying this one, it'll be tomorrow, because the store is only located in a city far from mine.
The battery life is OK. If you're not going to use internet much, you can shut off wifi/3g and extend the battery quite a bit.
For me, and I've had my Droid since the day it was released, it has definitely been worth it.Is it worth it?
I really like the keyboard. I've not had any issues getting used to it's "flatness".How's the keyboard?
The camera is no better and no worse than any other I've had in a phone. My opinion is that all cameras in phones suck. The lens and sensor is just too small. Then again, I'm a photography enthusiast and primarily shoot with a DSLR.Do you confirm the complaints about the camera?
I like the versatility and having a constant web connection with useful internet apps. It is, as that guy who does the Dilbert comic says, my exo-brain.What do you like the most in it?
The screen is fantastic. It's crystal clear and bright. I've not had any trouble reading it outside in the sunlight. Also, I've not had any hints of it scratching (and I'm not using a screen protector). How's the screen?
If you want a keyboard, the Droid is your solution for a Android super-phone.
Battery life will be mostly affected by screen brightness and WIFI. Keep those 2 areas in check and you will love the battery.
It is 100% worth it. When you hold it in your hands, and experience how solid it feels, you'll understand it was very well made.
The keyboard, for me, has turned out to be one of the real strengths of the phone. The keys are flat, so it feels much different from whatever phone you're using or have used, but they actually feel great after awhile. So there is a small adjustment period for the keyboard.
Yes I confirm some of the complaints. Most are user error. The camera can take some great shots, but consistency is the problem. One pic can come out good and the next can be awful. Thankfully, there's some good apps on the market that help out greatly. Also keeping the lens clean is key. I don't use the stock camera app anymore. The camcorder is excellent. Best I've seen on a phone by far.
What do I like the most? Thats tough! So much to like.I guess its the fact that Android is running on the killer hardware I wanted back when I got my pre-ordered G1 over a year ago. This feels like the Droid I deserve for going in with Android from the start. Its the total package. The most complete Android device so far.
The screen is drop dead gorgeous. Highest resolution of ANY Android device on the market today.
If you want upgrades I would suggest reading up on rooting. It opens the true power of any Android device. Good luck.
