what does this symbol mean on my samsung moment

Its a EC and a d underneath it. Its 2 sqaures. I have no idea what that means

Is this on the notification bar? If so, what happens when you drag the notification bar down and press on the line that has that icon? Is any more text next to the icon?

Nothing happens. Now it is a ev with one arrow pointing up and one pointing down

Is the icon in the left group of icons the notification bar (where apps display them), or the right side (where your time, battery level, etc is)?

that's your network connection (evdo). arrows represent data going to/from phone.

But, EC and a "d" under it?? Mine as a G for GPRS, H for HSPDA, and it used to say 3G for 3G, and E for Edge.

Sounds like its related to the type of network connection u have.

Yeah - I agree - it can't be an app if it's next to the battery. Have a look in the manual - it should have all of the system icons in there.
