well, my only personal experience with samsung is thd nexus s, and im happy with it. thats probably because google is involved with it.
First there's a class action lawsuit, then there's a Twitter campaign - which one is better? Are you going to join in either one?

Sounds like he hasn't got a clue. He says:
I've had a Samsung Galaxy S since June, and so has my partner.they have continuously lied to us about the hardware, and software reliability of this phone, they promised us updates (to 2.2! Not the functionally dead JI6 2.1!) over and over, NOW they plan to release NEW galaxies without updating the old ones they currently have The GPS is clearly a hardware defect. There are just too many issues with this phone and the Customer service reps have been combative even bullying and threatening customers!
Lied about the hardware? Their specs are true. Where's the lie(s)?
The software reliability of this phone? Mine's been absolutely fine, and I'm a pretty heavy power user. There was a bug in 2.2 that I had for a few weeks over the short time I had 2.2 on my phone, which would cause a random app to crash maybe once a day, but it was promptly fixed in 2.2.1. People are all to quick to blame the phone manufacturer for known bugs in Android (Google's fault), and bugs in third-party apps (developer's fault). The lesson here is also that Samsung were pressured into releasing 2.2 before it has been properly tested and the bugs ironed out. I'd rather wait and have a bug-free phone than have to suffer unreliability for months. This guy's very actions are contradictory... complaining about bugs in the phone yet threatening them with legal action to try and force them to rush out a release.
They promised updates to 2.2. which they delivered. It was released maybe two weeks late if I remember correctly to SIM free phones in the UK back in October, the only official release date that I ever actually saw come first-hand from Samsung (via their official twitter feed) was one of "September". But, multiple misquotes and a whole load of people making up crap on multiple forums turned that into a bunch of promises they never actually made. Carriers in the US don't have 2.2 yet because.... oh yes... the carriers have customised firmwares which are causing delays. Blame the carriers, not Samsung. But it's not just that which is causing the delay. Different countries have different regulations so the firmwares do need to be approved by various agencies. For example (not the problem here though, it's just an example), here in the UK the firmware allows us to use 14 WiFi channels, but in the US you're only allowed to use 13 of them due to different frequency restrictions there. Samsung shouldn't be blamed for delays caused by an individual countries restrictions either. Samsung have made and released 2.2 and 2.2.1 firmwares for the Samsung Galaxy S here in the UK, so I doubt it can be Samsung's fault they're not available in the US.
They plan to release new Galaxy phones without updating the old ones? When have they ever stated they won't update the old ones? That's just pure conjecture which is likely untrue.
The GPS is clearly a hardware defect? Ummm... despite the numerous software based fixes on XDA which hundreds of people report fix the problem, and despite my own experiences of the GPS becoming truly awesome after the update to 2.2. Again, an untrue statement from a disgruntled customer.
Too many issues with the phone? Couldn't disagree more. Other than that crashing issue that was very short lived, and the GPS issue that was fixed months ago for me, I've had absolutely none.
The only statement I can't disagree with is the one about the customer service reps, but only because I've never once had need to call them so I'm not in a position to comment. To me he sounds like an angry guy who likes to blame his problems on everyone else and make a massive deal about stuff (internet hate campaign and threats of legal action), so I don't doubt for a second he could drive a poor customer service rep to the point of anger and then exaggerate this fact, like he has with all of this other statements, into them being "combative even bullying and threatening customers".

They dont owe you anything. They made a phone, you bought the phone. They dont HAVE to do anything else to it, it would be nice if they did but theres no class action suit against them, it's all bs. You cant make a company do what you want them to, no matter how bad you want them to.
I feel ya there Jet. Their previous products, and aftercare, left a lot to be desired. I agree with Jarhead though. You buy a product for what it can do, not what it might perhaps do in the future depending on a while bunch of variables and unrealistic expectations.
If I bought a PC with XP on it a year ago, I wouldn't expect the manufacturer to give me Vista then Windows 7.
