My battery has been awesome also on the Vibrant. I get through an entire day with heavy usage. I also keep the screen on 100% all day.
I finally had a day of normal usage on my new Vibrant and I must say the battery held up quite well.
@15% battery left
Removed from charger around 8:45am, current time is 11:00pm
100% screen brightness (because I can't bring myself to dim the screen!)
GPS on all day
3G on all day
~10 minutes talk time (lame, I'm sure)
~30 GTalk messages
~10 Text Messages
Email updating every 5 minutes
2 exchange accounts running.
Navigation running for ~20 minutes
Music playing for ~5 minutes.
I'm not sure what entitles a normal day of use for everyone else, but I know there were some concerns on battery life with the screen. I can say this phone's battery is holding up just as good, if not slightly better than my G1's.
Just thought this might interest some people who were curious/worried.

I did not have a good battery day. 6:45 am to 4:00 pm it had 18% left. WiFi turned off, 3G on allday
Looked at some emails throughout day
two calls
played a couple games
Looked in App store
Browsed a little on internet
Looked on Phonezap for maybe 20-30 minutes
Facebook browsing
Screen brightness is automatic and usually lower than half
Hoping for better results.

I bought my Vibrant after my G1 took a direct hit of sodium hydroxide this morning (RIP.)
My G1 would have at the battery well within the first few hours the way I'm using this. And it stays cool.
I can't believe I actually even considered the HTC HD2. Android has been perfected on this outstanding hardware.
Am new to Android phones and getting sucky battery life compared to some of you. Any tops for extending battery life for a newb? thanks.
Just check other threads out there.
But I acn tell you its all about usage.
Also try 2G istead of 3G
