Samsung Vibrant Work with AT&T 3G?

I found these two links and it looks like they will run on ATT 3g band if you unlock it.

Interesting. I'm using an unlocked Vibrant on At&t, and last time I was in a known 3g area, I still only got edge. Does one need to manually enter apn info?

My phone was unlocked when I got it, so I don't know which method it was unlocked by.
