Samsung Captivate won't update - 11/19/2010

I received a text message from ATT today stating I would be receiving an update. I noticed the update downloading and when my phone asked permission to update I clicked on "ok". The phone proceeded to go through some form of update and when the phone reset and started back up it stated no update was applied. Several times a week I get a pop up on my phone stating no update was applied but not sure why.

Is this the Android 2.2? And if so, why won't it update.
If it was the GPS fix, my phone is already showing the fix in the firmware section.

Also, now when i click on the settings menu - Software Update, the phone says "no firmware".

Any help is appreciated.

its not froyo for sure. Captivates aren't getting 2.2

I'm having the same problem with mine... i rooted my phone when i got it and unrooted it hoping it would fix the problem but still says it can't update

Do you know if the Vibrant is getting 2.2 or higher?
