Ok, so they've been working on this and not working on getting Android 2.1 on the phone?
Sprint has announced that an update is now available for the Moment. It will initially only be available by taking your device to a Sprint store and will be released OTA later.

That's exactly what time saying. This is really making me mad. They need to better. As much as I love this phone I need 2.1, some of the apps I use have been updated to use 1.6 or 2.0 so I can't use them now because of cupcake and it sucks badly.
Sigh, I love it when early adopters whine...
No, they are working on 2.1, this is a maintenance update to fix some of the bugs in the original ROM.
Early adopter? 1.6 has been out how long now? I want to recommend the moment to a coworker but, I just can't bring myself to recommend a 1.5 phone... I just don't know if I trust Samsung to release an update and not include their crappy touchwiz or force you to buy a new phone. He is considering a switch to T-Mobile and a N1 now that he sees my phone though.

You seem to have unrealistic expectations. 2.1 was *JUST* released on a device for the first time, and you expect them to already have it for the Moment? For that matter, why are you even commenting if you're not a Moment user? Don't you have your own section of the forum for your device?
I find it laughable when people expect everything in the world to happen at the snap of their fingers. In the real world, at companies who manufacture products, things don't work that way. Why would you think they wouldn't release a maintenance update before the OS update? It's going to take longer to get the new OS ready than a few bug fixes.
Frankly, it doesn't matter to me because I'm rooted and running a new ROM, kernel, and modem anyways. I posted this info so that Moment users on this forum would be aware that an update was now available.
BTW, you're the one who came in here trying to piss in the cornflakes, so who is it that was looking for a fight?![]()
I personally am a bit disapointed. Gps has been messed up on the moment since it's release. This update "helps" it but it is still unusable in my book. Yes I know about the true gps and agps, which is what this update was spose to fix. But when it sets me anywhere from 10-50 miles apart from where I truely am, that to me is not usable in the least. It now , but if I had to rely on this getting me to a destination, well you can count that out. I was happy when I heard the so called gps fix, since I have apps that I use with location I thought kewl, now my phone will actually be useful. Alas I was sadly disapointed in that it still is way off base from where it should be. I have tested numerous times the hero and palm pre and both have no issues with the gps issue that the moment unbearably has the issue with. I am not concerned so much with 2.1 being released as much as I am with haveing an actual gps that works. Again I am let down and disapointed at somthing that was spose to work out of the box, here 2-3 months later and a so called "fix" and it still does not work right. I have also messed with a moto cliq, it to does not seem to suffer from a malfunctioning/crippled gps issue. As a samsung moment owner, I have to say this is turning out to be a not so good purchase right now.
So you had the update done at by SPrint and your aGPS still isn't working right? That sucks. Everyone I've talked to that had it done said theirs is working perfectly right now. I've been running a custom version of CL14 for about a week now and I know it completely fixed mine. aGPS isn't going to give you an exact fix, but mine find me within 1 mile when I use it in my house. Keep in mind if you're in an area with poor signal that it won't be as effective either. If it's honestly still that bad bring it back to the store and have them swap out the phone for you or re-flash the updated ROM to make sure it's not corrupted.
