Internet problem on Samsung galaxy 5

Hi.. I'm using sasmung galaxy 5 and was able to connect to the wifi.. But whenever I try to browse, use youtube, email or any internet related apps It always says that i'm not connected.

Any reason and solutions for this? thanks in advance.

I dont know if youve had the latest firmware upgrade through kies,but if you have ,check to see if you have "packet data activated.To do this go to settings then wireless network,then scroll down to mobile networks,then tick use packet data.Please reply to me if this helped.Wade.

thanks for the reply, my firmware version is 2.1-update1, about the packet data, i could not see it under the Mobile Network..

EDIT: though I have changed the "Enable always-on mobile data" still I could not connect even if the wifi says I'm connected.
