Default email reponse on handset is terrible

    Galaxy S ... no 2nd sim, running 2.2
    vanilla firmware.

Was all OK, however often find it can now take several minutes to compose an email ..... esp if in poor signal area.

Doesn’t matter if it’s new or reply ... the soft key pad opens .. and response is terrible, press a button can be a up to a minute or more before character appears on screen .
Sometimes after a long delay it is accompanied by an email arriving .. it returns control to me at that point, but only for a minute or so then just goes into delay mode again.
Is Outlook Exchnage sync freezing email client ?

Would have thought that Mutli-tasking whould prevent this ?

SWYPE action ceases, can’t press any buttons on keypad.
Often the following error pops up :
SORRY ! Acvtivity Email (in process Email) is not responding. (Force close or wait)

There are times when SWYPE has allowed me to enter 3 or 4 words ... and yet it can be a 30 sec delay before any of them appear on screen.
This is a very significant issue.

Have carried out Hard Reset & cache clear after last update (to 2.2) ... and a cache clear now has no effect.
It appears that the Outlook sync email account is dragging the phones response right down .... anybody any tips of suggestions to fix this.

Yep, the Email app got worse on 2.2. Clearly it is a Samsung problem and you have 2 options:
    1) use a 3rd party client
    2) Pray that the 2.2.1 update Samsung suddenly learns how to write a multi-threaded application on their own.

Is there any good 3rd party clinet out there that supports pop3 & exchange accounts ?

Also is there a way to report problem to Samsung ?
