Default AKO Email on Samsung Moment

I have been searching everywhere for the settings to add my ako account to my samsung moment. Everyone seems to list servers and ports for more fields then I have. All I have listed for accounts is Port and server and then userid and password. I know when setting up through outlook there is an incoming and outgoing but I do not have those settings. I tried through work email app and through email app, get several errors and never able to connect. Has anyone been able to set up AKO on the samsung moment? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A quick Google found the settings you'd need here:

    https://help.us.army.mil/cgi-bin/ako...iNj&p_lva=221#

    It gives the following information:
    Username: firstname.lastname@us.army.mil
    Server type: IMAP
    Incoming sever: imap.us.army.mil
    Outgoing server: mailrouter.us.army.mil
    Outgoing server requires authentication.
    The server uses SSL.
    Incoming server uses port 993.
    Outgoing server uses port 465.

That's everything you'd ever need to set up this email account.

So - start the Email app, click next or otherwise find your way to the screen to add a new account.

The first screen asks for your email address and password, so enter firstname.lastname@us.army.mil and whatever your password is in those boxes, and click the Manual Setup button at the bottom left corner of that screen. Click the IMAP account button. Enter your AKO username and password on the next two boxes. Enter imap.us.army.mil for IMAP server, and 993 for the port, select "SSL (if available)" for the security type. Click next. It should verify OK. For the Outgoing server settings, enter mailrouter.us.army.mil, port 465, security type SSL (if available), make sure "Require sign-in" is checked, add your normal AKO username and password (although it should have automatically filled that in), click Next. It should verify OK. Set your email checking frequency, and any other settings you want on that page, hit Next, give the account a name, and you're done!

Yes I found that online but my problem is I do not have the option to specify all those fields. The only options I have are username, server type, incoming server, and port. There is no place for me to specify Outgoing server and outgoing port.

I have tried with just the settings I have options for but it does not work. Also, I could find no "manual setup" on my email options on the phone.

For me, you enter the incoming server settings first, then when you click next it verifies the settings, and if they're OK it asks for the outgoing settings.

I get error stating cannot safely connect to server. And then it brings me back to first page so I do not get to second settings. I have it set for SSL.

I found the answer on a forum finally. If you select SSL if available it will let you set it up. Cannot select SSL Always. Hope this helps anyone else trying to do the same thing.

    Thanks extorian!

No problem. The reason I said to choose "SSL (if available)" is exactly because of that problem. The number of sites out there that do not have officially certified SSL certificates - without which browsers and email clients will either refuse to connect or pop up warnings about the connection, is staggering. Surprisingly, even the US military don't have a valid secure certificate for their email, or their website.
