I'm a fan of The Big Picture series on The Boston Globe. Basically they summarize global event in pictures, updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

There is already an app for iPhone/iPod Touch which does a pretty good job.

I think similar app would glow beautifully on a Nexus One. The RSS and the website is quite easy to parse. I would make the App if I know anything about developing Android apps.
Thanks for any developer who is interested and pick this up.
And here is just some breath taking photos from the last Winter Olympic:

Interesting! That could be fun to code... and not that advanced, I suppose; just a list viewer, text, image viewer, a link, and parsing some RSS in-between. Probably an excellent starter project for someone wanting to ramp up on Android development.

I also like to see an app to see The Big Pictures on my phone.
That doesn't sound hard to develop but I don't have time to work on another app.

Enjoy!

There is now an official Big Picture app available in the Android Marketplace. It supports tablets and phones (Android 2.2+).
Except the official app does half of what my app did, does them badly and is not available in a free limited version...
Any help would be great
