Lightbulb Radar warning

Application for warning other users where cops are using radar.

User A: passes a cop and hits button on phone. Spot is marked on map for period of time as location of a cop radaring. If another user marks within same zone it resets timer.

User B: phone gets notified by a sound when they are about to enter the zone. Avoids ticket

Sounds like it would take some work and someone to host the data, but would be nice

I believe there is an app and service already out there that does this for iphones and other mobile devices, and from what I remember reading on their website, they are working on an android version as well. So I'm assuming coming in 2009 with all the other paid apps. If only I could recall the name right now, but it was very reliable and it looked pretty nice.

this app would be really really really important here in AZ. The state went nuts with the amount of photo enforcement on our freeways. For example today they decided to have all 42 mobile units out plus the other new stationary cameras that were just put up

The only problem with this is that in order for this to work your GPS has to be very accurate and what i mean by that is that it should be using the satelites instead of towers or your wifi to find your lcoation.

When it uses towers or wifi to pin point you it could deviate as much as 1/4 mile from your location.

Good idea none the less..
