kinda stupid that while theres a google search box on the screen, you have to open the phone to use it.
Its got a slide out keyboard for that...get over it..if you want a virtual one?then write your own app or wait for one...geeez
It was kind of obvious that Google just built the framework to allow the community to fill in the gaps.
They will release a native virtual keyboard in Q1 2009 when they finish internationalization, so that it will support not just English, but other languages too:

That is the real reason why it wasn't included.
Lets face it.....the phone has a lot to get worked out. But thats why its an open app phone. Iphone didn't have certain features either. Google will either allow peeps to make apps for the missing things..or fix it in the newer firmware versions (like Iphone did with some).

werd! i agree! i dont know why ppl are bitchin so much...although i do wish there was a soft keyboard, it will come that is the beauty of open source "innovation from the population!!" so we dont nessasarly have to wait for an official "fix"...I dealt with the apple firmware rollercoaster and wait time geez!! sucked and they still dont have stuff we have in a 1st version of android (i.e. copy/paste, MMS, REAL GPS not aGPS, etc.) so those of you thinking "buyers remorse" stay in the matrix while the rest of us see how deep the rabbit hole goes!
p.s. 1st post w00t!!![]()
It would be great to see someone with the expertise to actually create an onscreen keyboard post on here with some sort of feedback for us. It sure would beat reading a bunch of posts by people who are just bitching about it.
Next person to say stop "bitching" about something in this posts needs to be shot.
