![]() Seeing Android running on atypical hardware isn't exactly new, but it's certainly interesting to see it playing nicely with a relatively mainstream device rather than an obscure PDA of some sort. eLinux.org has managed to get the open-source OS working with Nokia's OMAP2-based N810 Internet Tablet, and while their implementation (which also works on certain Sharp Zaurus models) is still a work-in-progress at least it's a working work-in-progress! If you're a brave individual with a little ARM Linux know-how you can probably get this working on your own N810 (or compatible device); now wouldn't it be interesting to see this on one of the new WiMAX-enabled N810 tablets that Nokia announced last week at CTIA Wireless. The eLinux site seems to be down as of writing, but you can check out the details (if not the images) via this cache link. Posted on 08 April 2008 by Chris Davies

How do you manage to get Android compatible programs to run on the N810 through Android? I am currently working on a project to develop an application that can run and function on an N810 via Android.
