No, haven't seen that quirk but from http://androidcommunity.com/forums/ the Latest Topics and Replies links send me to "Page not found" whereas they work properly on my laptop.

To answer the OP, I'm not a big fan of trackballs but sure don't see a way around using it on the G1. The type is so tiny on many pages, including many non-browser screens that have no zoom option (e.g., the unnecessarily cramped Display screen where the font size is chosen), I see no way around using the trackball. I wonder how you clean that puppy when it inevitably starts sticking?

the page not found thing happens when you are connected to wifi for some reason...on 3G, edge, etc...it works fine.

try voice activated dialing i guess.

Not any phone, just the capacitance screen type. The Treo's resistive screen works fine with gloves using the stylus or the 5-way keypad, although the screen display is not as nice as the G1's.

Voice is a possibility for dialing and some limited text input, but I don't see how it would work with selecting links and such.

I find myself using the tracball a lot especially when I have the keyboard out.
