Gotta tell ya, I'm liking that new look for that white one, lol
Hey guys.
I thought I'd ask this question here. I'm well aware of the White+Bronze G1's having keyboard lighting issues from reading across the boards..
But my problem feels like its specific to my phone only. I took out my black and white G1's to compare them and yes, I notice the black one seems flawless.
For the white/bronze owners, is your keyboard backlight supposed to light up like this?
Note the red circled part. That's where it seems most of the backlight intensity is coming from, the rest is lighter than that. Is yours brighter at that point or does the light cover the whole keyboard evenly?
I know this seems like an anal related question, but its one of the annoying perks that's getting to me, that I want to figure out before determining its a production issue or a problem specific to my phone.
Related, but not exactly: top of this, if I am to do the keyboard swap (as seen here from tmobile's site), does anyone know if the backlight is attached to the keypads or is it somewhere on the phone itself?

Yeah, I know the new look seems sweet.. I'm contemplating doing it, but I'm still wondering about my question about the LED placement part..
The swap isn't done by me. Credit where credit's due, it's some guy on the Tmobile forums that posted pics of his work. You can see the URL in the link, he has extra large pictures available there.
Plus, we also have the problem of voiding the warranty once you pop open those screws. I'm not on TM.. so I am guessing I can get into some real deep crap without a HTC warranty..
