Default wont stay connected to 3G

I have 3G in my area but for some reason my phone won't stay connected to it, it would jump from 3G to edge constantly, is there a setting some where to make it stay on 3G?

    No unfortunately there's not.

I know what you're going through.

    It can be very inconvenient...

It depends on the 3G strength of your area.

For example when I got my G1 I lived in an area that kept switching between 3G and Edge..

Now I was fortunate enough to move to a place with full bars and 3G 24/7..

    It just depends

    It's called a G1

Call TMO customer care and get transferred to the smartphone techs. (Call from landline) Ask them to change your port on the network. They will ask you to power off the phone and wait about 5 minutes. I was having this issue as well and now it is completely cleared up.
